Chalk Handsが2026年3月、新作アルバム『The Line That Shapes the Coast of Us』をDog Knights Productionsよりリリースし、シーンへ帰還する。高い評価を受けたデビュー作『Don’t Think About Death』で築いたエモの名盤的地平をさらに拡張し、混沌と静寂、内省と激情が交差する地点を探り続ける本作。そこには一貫して、彼らの表現の核心に宿る揺るぎない誠実さが刻まれており、それこそがエモの本質であることを改めて証明している。
デビュー作『Don’t Think About Death』のリリース以降、Chalk Handsはイギリスおよびヨーロッパ各地で精力的にツアーを重ねてきた。Touché AmoréやFrail Bodyとの共演を果たし、現代ヘヴィ・オルタナティブ音楽の最前線を提示し続ける英国屈指のフェスティバルArcTanGent Festival（UK）、さらには北欧の実験的ヘヴィ・ミュージックを象徴するSonic Rites Festival（フィンランド）にも出演。ツアーはトルコにまで及び、新たな地平を切り拓くバンドにとって静かながらも確かなマイルストーンとなった。人間精神のエッジ、境界線としての「海岸線」を想起させる新作タイトルの通り、彼らの表現もまた次なる着地点を求めている。

Biography

Chalk Handsは英国ブライトン出身の4人組。2016年に結成され、ポストハードコア、ポストロック、スクリーモの要素を融合させ、感情の誠実さとダイナミックな強度を追求した音楽を創り出してきた。 デビューEP『Burrows & Other Hideouts』（2017年）で注目を集め、初フルアルバム『Don’t Think About Death』（2022年）はルイス・ジョンズ（Svalbard、Employed to Serve）のプロデュースにより、喪失、忍耐、自己省察といったテーマを広大で質感豊かな楽曲で探求した。バンドはイギリスとヨーロッパ全域、さらにトルコまでツアーを行い、Touche AmoreやFrail Bodyとの共演も果たした。『The Line That Shapes the Coast of Us』は2026年3月27日、Dog Knights Productionsよりデジタル、デラックス・ヴァイナル、CD、カセットでリリースされる。日本盤CDは3LAより限定枚数にてリリース。

Building upon the classic emo groundwork established by their critically acclaimed debut *Don’t Think About Death*, this new album continues to explore the intersection of chaos and silence, introspection and passion. Throughout it all, the unwavering sincerity at the core of their artistry remains etched, proving once again that this is the very essence of emo.
Since the release of their debut album *Don’t Think About Death*, Chalk Hands have toured extensively across the UK and Europe. They have shared the stage with acts like Touché Amoré and Frail Body, and have performed at ArcTanGent Festival (UK)—one of the UK’s premier festivals that continues to showcase the cutting edge of contemporary heavy alternative music—as well as Sonic Rites Festival (Finland), a symbol of experimental heavy music in the Nordic region. Their tour even extended to Turkey, marking a quiet yet significant milestone for a band breaking new ground. Just as the title of their new album evokes the “coastline” as the edge and boundary of the human spirit, their expression is also seeking its next destination.
Armed with the determination to push their sound to new extremes, Chalk Hands now stand with unprecedented confidence and breadth. *The Line That Shapes the Coast of Us* is an album built on the starkest of contrasts: brighter and more hopeful than their previous work, yet darker and more profound—a work of modern, passionate hardcore that has emerged at the midpoint of the 2020s.

Biography
Chalk Hands is a four-piece band from Brighton, UK. Formed in 2016, they have created music that fuses elements of post-hardcore, post-rock, and screamo, pursuing emotional sincerity and dynamic intensity.
They garnered attention with their debut EP, *Burrows & Other Hideouts* (2017), and their first full-length album, *Don’t Think About Death* (2022)—produced by Lewis Jones (Svalbard, Employed to Serve)—explored themes of loss, endurance, and self-reflection through expansive, textured tracks. The band has toured throughout the UK and Europe, as well as Turkey, and has shared the stage with Touche Amore and Frail Body. *The Line That Shapes the Coast of Us* will be released on March 27, 2026, via Dog Knights Productions on digital, deluxe vinyl, CD, and cassette. A limited-edition Japanese CD will be released by 3LA.
