静岡のレーベル、FURTHER PLATONICから到着したweaveの2ndアルバム『The Sound Ⅱ』の販売を開始します。90年代EMO〜オルタナの末裔感、2年かけて制作したという本作がリリースされたタイミングは世界が閉じこもろうとしている最中だった。躍動するリズム、突き抜けていく開放感、メロディ、それらが世界の動きとは正反対に響いている。だがもはやこの不運な偶然すら運命と思うしかないのかもしれない。録音物に刻まれている音が、「かつてそこに存在していた音」になるのか「これからの未来で鳴っている音」になるのか、今アーティストは試されている。つまりこの2020年にリリースされる作品には望む望まないに関わらず文脈がある。買ってください。
